National Yoga Month is Here!

National Yoga Month is Here!

Did you know that yoga is a great way to workout but also to find relaxation?

In fact, it is a form of movement exercises both mind and body through strengthening and stretching poses, as well as meditation. Other benefits of this practice include improved flexibility, strength and balance.

Here is what our JCC Staff had to say about why they love yoga:

“It is the time when the chatter in my mind can quiet and I can listen to what my body is saying.”
Else Green, Group Fitness Instructor

“It’s a great way to stretch tight muscles and helps me reset mentally.”
Stephanie Bloom, Programs Coordinator

“I love the balance it brings to my life.”
Emily Crotty, Group Fitness Instructor

If you want to incorporate something new into your workout routine, this dynamic form of movement is a great place to start. Many beginners find Hatha as a great style for learning the foundations in a slow and focused manner, whereas Vinyasa is great for those looking for a faster-paced cardio benefit.

There is no better time to start your health journey than during National Yoga Month! See our group fitness schedule to find a class that’s right for you. We have over 10 types of yoga classes here at the JCC, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Flow & Hold, Restorative, Barre, and more.

Stay tuned if you’re interested in learning about our amazing yoga instructors who make each practice as unique and deeply enriching as the next! Our instructors come from a wide array of interesting backgrounds, such as holistic healing, Ayurveda, psychology, and beyond.
