Meet Reva!-Reva Cuthbertson

Reva has recently joined the APJCC Personal Training department. Her specialities include working with those with special needs and working with older adults. She also specializes in strength training, active aging, and senior fitness.

Reva’s philosophy lies in functional fitness; which includes nutrition and physical exercise, allowing one to prepare everyday life activities. Functional training means to have the strength, agility, and mobility to live independently. It can be adapted for anyone. She believes it is all about meeting clients where they are and teaching them the basics of human movement. Progress may look a little different for some, but all will benefit from a functional training program.

“There are many with special needs for whom these activities are challenging. For a long time, I have been actively seeking a fitness program that will help special populations live a full and independent life.” – Reva

Reva has over 5 years of working with those with special needs and has been certified as a Level 1 Certified Pro through Autism Fitness. She has worked with two local high schools and their physical education department; there she worked as a P.E. Assistant, as well as trainer for their Special Education Programs. At these schools, Reva worked with small to medium groups, showing the students different fitness exercises and routines.

Reva is passionate about her goal to bridge the gap in order to give all the gift of fitness for life. She focuses on giving each client a unique, individualized experience so that she can give them the healthy habits they need to increase their mobility and independence.

Reva is currently accepting new clients. If you are interested in training with Reva, please contact fitnesscenter@jvalley.org to get set up with an appointment. To learn more about personal training, visit our webpage.
