Silicon Valley Tennis offers the following classes for children:

Red and Orange Ball (ages 4-8), Mon/Wed 3:30-4:30pm. For beginning players with little to no experience. Students play with low compression tennis balls, 50-75% slower than the normal ball. We focus on making consistent contact with the ball, and learning to hit it over the net while still placing it on the other side of the court.

Green Ball (ages 7-11), Tue 3:30-4:30pm, Thurs 4:30-5:30pm. Students are capable of making consistent contact with some shot placement ability. Green balls are 25% slower than a normal tennis ball. We focus on development of shot placement and control. Some rallying introduced.

Yellow Ball (ages 10-18), Thurs 5:30-6:30pm. For youth with consistent experience playing tennis. Players use the normal ball at this level, and are comfortable rallying with an opponent. More advanced techniques are introduced to develop a student’s overall tennis game. Mental aspects of the game are also highlighted at this level.

Monthly fees are as follows:
1 class per week: $100 CM, $140 SM/NM per month
2 classes per week: $180 CM, $260 SM/NM per month

Looking for a tennis partner? Fill out this online form and we will do our best to pair you up!

Missed classes:  Students can make up missed classes within a session but cannot carry them over to the next session. No prorating unless approved by the Tennis Department. We will make every effort to make up sessions missed due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Classes/times/fees published in the JCC Program Guide are subject to change.

If a minimum number of students is not met, classes may be cancelled and students will be offered classes on alternate days/times.

During the session, if there is ever a day when there is only one student, then he or she will be offered a private lesson lasting half the usual length of the class (for example, if the class is usually one hour, the private lesson would be half an hour). If there are only two students, the class will be shortened to a semi-private lesson of the appropriate length, at the instructor’s discretion.
