Meet the Personal Trainers: Bill Decker

JCC Los Gatos Personal Trainer, Bill Decker, has been part of our fitness team and in personal training for four years. He has certifications in personal training and has taken courses in behavior change, senior fitness, and fitness nutrition. Bill is also a certified health coach. As a health coach, he has received specialized training in behavior modification for people suffering with diseases caused by metabolic syndrome.

Bill has been passionate about fitness his whole life. He continues formal training and tries to stay current with trends. He says that his most valuable education came from the school of “trial and error,” which he has learned from personal experience. Bill has been on his fitness journey for quite some time. Before he came to the JCC Los Gatos, Bill was attending hot yoga classes five to six days per week.

Bill says his favorite part about being a personal trainer is encouraging people to think about what is possible for them, and how they may actually be able to change their lives and create a better, healthier person. He says that positive change starts in the present moment, and he gets to devote an entire hour to helping a person focus on the task at hand and to give that task a 100% effort.

Bill is currently accepting new clients and is eager to meet new people and guide them on their fitness journey. Bill says that as a senior, he seems to naturally connect with other seniors. However, he does not limit himself to any age category as far as his clients go.

If you are ready to start or boost your fitness journey, Bill is ready to give you the tools and support you need for success. If you are interested in training with Bill, please contact fitnesscenter@jvalley.org to get set up with an appointment. For more info on personal training, click here.
