Get Involved at the JCC
Become A Member
You don't have to be a member of the JCC to participate in our programs, but members get great discounts! We offer two types of membership: Full Center Members have full access to our award-winning fitness, aquatics, and tennis centers, including more than 90 free fitness classes each week, and also receive member pricing on all fee-based JCC activities. Social Members don't have access to the fitness center, but they do receive complimentary admission to the swimming pool on Sundays, along with discounts on many of the JCC's fee-based activities.
Jewish tradition teaches us that humanity must play an active role in the world. The concept of tikkun olam—repairing the world—expresses the value of volunteering in Judaism. Volunteers make possible many special programs that the JCC could not otherwise offer. Volunteer opportunities include helping with special events; helping with youth programs, preschool, and programs for children with special needs (in some cases a background check may be required); and helping with arts and culture programs, for example installing and deinstalling exhibits, and serving as a greeter/usher for shows and events.
More than 5,000 people benefited from JCC programs and services last year. These aren’t just numbers — every one of them has their own story. They are children who received preschool scholarships, seniors who found a social connection, low income families who received subsidized JCC membership rates, children with special needs who were able to participate in recreation programs just for them…the list goes on. You can read some of their stories and view a video on our Beneficiary Stories page.
The JCC's Corporate Alliance program provides businesses with the opportunity to support the JCC while receiving beneficial publicity and creating awareness of their business among the JCC's 9,000 members and active participants. Your company and brief messaging will appear everywhere we feature our Corporate Alliance members–-on your banner in our gymnasium or soccer field, on the large electronic TV display in our lobby, on a poster in the hallway to the fitness facilities, on our website, and in our monthly e-newsletter.
Thank You to Our Donors
We wish to acknowledge the 646 individuals and 83 businesses, foundations and other organizations who collectively made $1,067,000 in charitable contributions to the APJCC's community-strengthening programs between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017. 100% of contributions go to programs such as hot lunches for seniors, recreation programs for children with special needs, subsidized memberships and preschool tuition for low-income households, and Jewish education, arts and culture.
Ways To Give
Donate to the program area of your choice, make a tribute gift, and learn about matching gifts, stock donations, legacies, endowment opportunities, and vehicle donations. However you choose to make your gift, know that 100% of your gift will be used to support the community program area you designate. No portion will be used for fitness center operating expenses. The Addison-Penzak JCC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
