Menorahs and Miracles – At Children’s Discovery Museum
Menorahs and Miracles is held annually at the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose, in partnership with the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley.
Activities available all afternoon include making a candle, playing the dreidel game, building a paper chain menorah, going on a scavenger hunt for miracles in Bill’s Big Backyard, and tasting Hanukah treats (while supplies last). Upstairs in the art studio you can design and create a hamsa, and in the Wonder Cabinet children ages 0-4 can make a “stained glass” menorah.
Sing along to Hanukah songs in the museum’s theater from 1:00-1:30pm, followed by a puppet show with Treehouse Learning from 1:50-2:30pm, and storytimes in English (2:50-3:05pm), Hebrew (3:05-3:20pm), and Russian (3:20-3:35pm).
Menorahs and Miracles is part of the museum’s cultural celebration series. The series is designed for families of all backgrounds to explore different cultures and traditions that are found in the South Bay.
Regular museum admission fees apply.
