Etgar Keret: Israeli Author
November 22 | 8:00pm Pacific Standard Time
Internationally acclaimed Israeli writer and filmmaker Etgar Keret discusses “Fly Already,” his Sapir Prize-winning collection of quirky short stories. Some of the topics will be his writing, his success outside of Israel, his new book and his new TV series. Keret is known for his absurd, sad, funny, very short stories, as well as graphic novels and screenwriting. His previous books include “Suddenly, a Knock at the Door,” “The Seven Good Years,” “The Bus Driver Who Wanted to Be God,” and many more.
The discussion will be led by JCC member Tricia Creason-Valencia, an Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker and Head of MACLA studio. Creason-Valencia produced “Stable Life,” a film about undocumented families living and working at a racetrack. She directed “Changing Boundaries: The History of San Jose,” addressing the multi-cultural evolution of an American city. Tricia has taught video production and film history at Santa Clara University and UC Santa Cruz. She is a passionate mentor to emerging BIPOC and women filmmakers.
There will be a Q&A with the author at the end.
This event will be held on Zoom. Tickets $20. Click here to register.
