Message from March 13, 2020

To Our Community:

A visitor to the APJCC who participated in a basketball game in the gymnasium between approximately 3:30 and 5:30pm on Wednesday, March 11th has tested positive for COVID-19. It is our understanding that the guest did not use our restrooms or visit any other spaces at the Levy Family Campus. We have since been in touch with the Santa Clara County Health Department and have received their reassurance that they are directly contacting anyone who may be at risk.

In order to do our part to protect the entire community and with the utmost of caution, we have voluntarily decided to close the Levy Family Campus for a minimum of two weeks. This closure includes the APJCC Preschool, Yavneh Day School, Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley, the JCC, and the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley.

During the next two weeks, we will clean and sanitize the entire campus, and will continue to follow the guidelines of the CDC and Santa Clara County. At the end of this period, we will reassess the situation. Please know that in this unprecedented situation, the health and well-being of every person in our community is of paramount importance to us. As soon as we feel that the health risk has been mitigated, we look forward to reopening the campus.

We understand that you may have questions and concerns. We ask that you respect our agency executives and refrain from calling them directly. Please email your questions to: We will closely monitor this email address and will answer all queries as soon as we are able.

Thank you all for your understanding.

Lael Gray, CEO, Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center
